ive heard from a couple of my riding friends (unreliable sources) that thor force/carbon/ etc. helmets use the same size shell for some of there sizes. i was told that XS, S, and M size helmets use the same size shell and that the only difference is that padding on the inside. Is this true? i would like to find out because i wear a medium helmet and there are tons of deals and clearances on the xs and small size carbon force helmets. thanks for any input

This could be true. Depends on how many Shell sizes they use for their size range XS - 2XL or 3XL.

Example:

If they use 2 different shell sizes then it would be like this.
XS - M use a Medium shell and EPS & L - 3XL use a Large shell and EPS

You could swap liners and pads for and XS - M and also on the L-3XL. But you could not swap liners from Large to a Medium, most likely the cheekpads will work with any size though.

Hope this helps.

Have you contacted thor?, their size charts are pretty accurate.

HJC is the builder of Thor helmets, to their specs. Sizes run very similar. I believe it is a one shell helmet, with varying liner/pad combos. They size very normal, I find One Industries sizes run smaller for comparison, I.e. One 2XL = Thor XL.

Xs-Md is one shell. Large and up is another. You can swap liners and cheek pads and make a small a med. Cheek pads are in 5mm increments

I called them last year in the spring and confirmed this. Unless they've changed in the last year, larryloopout is correct

Oh, and by the way, I've found this is a great way to get a good deal on a helmet. Look on ebay for an Xtra Small helmet, can usually find someone blowing out there last 1 in stock (usually an XS), and just change the liner for $30 or whatever it costs.

yeah that was exactly my plan, the xs helmets are always dirt cheap and the pads are like 15 bucks on ebay
