100% to make goggles?

Fairly certain the goggles will be made in China along with EKS, Oakley, Fox, etc.

Ryan Clark once told me and a buddy at a supercross when we asked him why he switched to FLY boots as opposed to A-Stars he was wearing... he said it's simple, at A-Stars he was the 20th guy on the totem pole as far as priorities went, but at FLY he was number 2.
Could be the same deal here... new product from a new-ish/reborn company, and he wants to be their first flagship rider.
I think it just boyled down to the money side of things. Especially as they (if this is 100%, 100% goggles..) clearly need someone to market their product. So, it'd just be one of those "do it for the cash" decisions. At the end of the day, whats googles. I've only ever worn Oakleys and one pair of SPY goggles (that were awful) but I think theyre all good these days.

Weirdest thing about it, is the fact that 100% used to be distributed by Fox right? Like shift, you justin just left after like 3/4 years. Unless the companies completely new and different in every single way other than logo, it's an odd move for him to ditch them for ONE, but go back for goggles right?

How much better did the Bell moto 9 look?

That's not good! Curious, what percentage of Scott goggles are actually made in the USA? Remember, "made in the USA" doesn't mean it was ALL made in the USA. My wife's 07 denali has more chinese made parts then I would have ever imagined and it's a complete joke! We didn't buy it new but if we had, I would have been one pissed of mofo!!

says the Scott guy, LOL. Love it.

The old Made in USA debate, levee the hypocrisy, Made in USA don't mean too much anymore since the born-in-USA consumers has convinced the born-in-USA brands that they will buy anything manufactured well in Asia. I love my iPhone, my MacBook Pro, my Trek bicycle, my Sony HD TV, etc, etc ha ha ha Smile

You'd be surprised how important it is to a lot of people. Scott goggles are made in USA using materials sourced and made in the USA. The main thing to consider is that when a company chooses to source and use items and Materials made domestically and locally it benefits the city and or town where the products are made. If the products are made in China then it only benefits the company...and China of course.
All that being said, I'm sure that 100%'s goggles are nice. They have to be in order to survive in today's Market. I really can't say anything bad about other goggle brands. They all bring something to the table.....

I purchased Smith goggles specifically because they are made in the USA, I'd do the same with the rest of my riding equipment if possible.

I totally understand and see your point but unfortunately it is not reality enough in terms of sales. Look at Smith then, pretty poor sales in MX, even behind Fox, but still made in USA.
We see it on here, everyone claims they buy made in usa and then turn around and ask for the best discounts and cheapest deals on gear.

It is noble and grand to make it all is the US but brands making product in Asia do also bring dollar back to the US economy, maybe more than certain made in USA guys (look at Microsoft, Apple, Gap, Bell, Specialized, Trek, Cannondale even, your Made in DEtroit cars are built with products made in China, etc, etc, they hire people in the USA, they pay federal and state taxes in the USA, they spend money on marketing that goes to athletes, media, promoters, etc, etc, in the USA. Companies based in the USA bring back as much to their local economy as some other companies that Make in USA.

Unfortunately in the world of tomorrow, things have changed, consumer habits have changed.

?????

If you're referring to my post; it is common practice to have say 60% of a product made in the USA while the other 40% is made elsewhere and the product can still be "claimed" to be made in the USA. I am uncertain of the exact percentages but like I said, the GMC Yukon that's "made in the USA" ........... is NOT...

When I first hear of EKS and Rich Taylor, I emailed the company and was responded to by Rich himself. I was quite impressed. I have sponsored a few local pro riders and all wore EKS and loved them. I have moved on to my 7 yo son who has been racing for four years. He has never worn anything but EKS and never will. Thanks Rich for the support.

Even if it was made/assembled in the USA, there's still a good chance you'd have minorities involved in the manufacturing process, dumb hillbilly.

their website is www.ride100percent.com but there's no product or anything for sale on their, right now it looks more like a tribute to the founder of 100% and the champs of the past, with tons of cool vintage memorabilia and stuff.

It's the same people behind 100% as founded One Industries & Tag Metals (not the current owners) so you can be pretty confident the brand will be successful based on their track record.

I can understand wearing lesser established goggles for the money if I were a sponsored athlete but what has never made sense to me is when they go with a cheap-o helmet. I don't care if I had to pay cash for my helmets I would still only wear Shoei or Arai if it was me.

As for goggles, I'd be willing to test out some pairs and post my reviews for you on here. Feel free to pm for my address (anyone) so you can send me some free goggles.

He's not talking......yet.

I bet there will be details soon.

Does anyone really know who owns 100% company. Last thing I knew Fox had purchased it from Drew. I work at a shop and we where a distributor for 100% products before it was sold to Fox. So if Fox still owns the company the goggles will be made by Oakley just like the Fox goggles.
