Matthes hit the nail on the head yesterday when he said the Factories are seldom impressed with guy's like Cooper doing better than their riders. And seldom kick down more support.

They look at it almost like a slap in the face that the riders they picked are not getting the job done.
That makes sense. What's their line of reasoning ?

"This guys whooping our guys asses on a modified stocker , lets not bother helping him 'cos then he might get even better results and we might sell even more bikes" ??

The factories need guys like Cooper and Hamblin to do well as privateers . That's what really sells bikes.

The broadcast showed 105 on the line getting help from a JGR wrench and GL's wrench, all deservedly so. The old line, you never know what you got till it's gone holds true. Congrats to Hamblin in admitting his faults/mistakes learning from it, and working his ass off to get it back. JoJO, heres hoping you never lose something and never have a chance to get it back, but many of these riders deserve a 2nd chance.

Cody has a sighned contract that runs through the nationals, yamaha couldnt put him on a bike if they wanted to. He is riding for a Suzuki support team and I think they have a good rider now.

If I was with the factories I'd for sure be having one of our "shop guy's" out at the Nat's fucking around with his bike and having our suspension guy paying him some attention if only after the fans left on Sat..

I'd also make sure his flights were directs and that he was sleeping in a nice bed.

I also might make a call to Morgantown RV sales and service and rent him a fun mover and hang a sign on that too.

Keep up the good work Hamblin.....but remember the season is long and there are quitters in the top 15. You know who they are and they will tell us themselves in July in Western NY and August in Western Massachusets.

It's 12 rounds and after High Point with all it's Racerx Banners melts in to the summer grind.......some riders are gonna be "super over it" Sure everyone want's a result at Red Bud but after that......if you're heart and determination is really really there........it's gonna be easy pickin's later in the season.

Hangtown was 20 degrees cooler... but yet Boniface was fading?
HMMM.
Sorry, but you don't remember correctly...

Steve wasn't fading, he just fall down in each moto, even came back from behind in the second one, passing Townley and Short!

How did you like racing in England ? I raced the nationals there for years way back in the day and would be interested to hear what you think of the tracks there.

I thought everything about England, with the way the people were and how mellow the place is that it reminded me of Canada!! I loved it it was just real layed back. As for the tracks there were a few really good ones and few that were not so good. But everyone one of them never seemed to duplicate another which was nice, whereas here now in the States everyone thinks that they need to bring in sand, sand, and more sand. Why not put clay back out there? Afterall thats what was there to begin with right? I think thats one good thing about England they run what was given to them at each venue rather than bring in something that doesnt really belong. Overall I really enjoyed my time whether it was in England or Europe.

That's cool . I liked how each week was something different as well.

I grew up riding in sand so I loved Hawkstone . Lyng was a great track too but Langrish & Foxhills not so much.

Talking of Lyng check this out from 1987 . This is just after you drop off that big ledge in to the sandpit then jump back out .
