I'm just saying, I keep reading all this horsecrap about Stewart being faster on a 125 than RC was on a 250 or 450. Go!! check the archives at amaproracing.com and you'll see what a bunch of BULLPUCKY that is. RC was consistently a few seconds a lap faster, even though there were a few where James came within a second or so, BUT! I haven't seen one series yet where James on a 125 EVER beat RC in SX or MX. There are a lot of archives, but in the first one I looked at in 2004, it's no comparison.

Interesting statistics. As to faster than JBS, last year there were a couple times when villo & poto upstaged the heavies. After Millville of course.

James on a 125 at Southwick was a two stroke clinic. He also showed Langston at Unadilla that you don't need a front brake.



However, there is no comparison between a 125 vs 450. There's no comparison between a 250 two stroke or a 450f. The comparson of an JBS450 vs an RC450 has been settled and it made JBS looking for answers. He wasn't too far off of RC's pace and should go 24-0 this season.

Another variable to this argument is the fact that, like James position now RC didn't have to ride over his head to win then. He had most covered pretty well and might of had a second or two more a lap if needed or maybe not. There is always variables that are not added to the equation. James obviously had the riders in his class covered as well and probably could have dropped his times as well as is the case this year.
I had the privilege to be at the track racing the same series as RC and James all through their youth and they were way better then all the rest even on minis. Watching Ricky whip that bike upside down every lap in his first 125 years was crazy, he would literally pass three guys in a turn with one hand on the bars and one holding his helmet just because he could. Fully pinned at all costs. James learned from Ricky as they rode together weekly since they were very small. Every interview or questionnaire James filled out he claimed that all he ever wants to be is like Ricky to the end of his 125 days. James had the best mentor on the planet even if they were close in age. Ricky used more brute strength to win and as James grew he learned how to be smooth and keep it pinned as well. James made new lines, took more chances and scrubbed it a little harder. I respect both equally and pulled for both every race. Not because they were from FL but because they were the best. For RC to beat James after he had already surpassed every goal racing and financially is amazing all by itself. James was fresh on the scene with huge goals and motivation for himself. Ricky had already accomplished everything and more by the time James was there so for him to have the drive to keep racing at that level is amazing. James is now the fastest racer out there and he deserves it. I would pay huge for all the tapes of RC and James on 125s, it was the best riding we will see ever I believe.

Facts are that sometimes the small bores, with great riders, can run close to faster lap times than the big bores. But, the rubber hits the road when both are on the same bike, on the same track, going head-to-head. That's already been settled between RC and Stew. Speculating on RV vs. Stew is just that: speculation. We won't know until they're going head to head.

The whole purpose of this thread was to debunk this rumor that's been floating around on these boards for what seems years now. While Stewart was an extremely gifted 125 rider, he was consistently slower than RC was on a 250 or 450 and even Chad Reed and Kevin Windham posted faster time aboard 450's. There were times when James was close, but I don't ever see him posting faster laps on a 125 like so many Stewart fans want everyone to believe. Take a look at Villopoto's fastest laps and you'll see that he's been within a half second of Stewarts times and 450's today are vastly superior to the 450's four years ago. That being said, the 250f's are also superior today compared to four years ago and this should put an end as to whether James on a 125 could beat Villopoto on a 250f. It simply wouldn't be a race and Villpoto would leave Bubba in the dust.

There is no argument here, the facts are laid out in plain view for the world to see. I just got tired of reading this James Stewart was faster on a 125 than everyone else was on their 250's and 450's BS. Hopefully, when some Stewart fan spouts off again about James being phenomenal on a 125 and posting faster laps than RC was on the big bikes, someone will remind them that NO! he wasn't. That's all, END OF STORY.
