My wife recieved a job offer we couldn`t refuse so I was curious as to if there was a club or any vintage mx racing around the Charlotte area.

There are quite a few vintage racers in this area. I know Devil's Ridge is one track that hosts vintage races. It is about 1.5 hrs east of Charlotte. There are several others as well but not sure which tracks they are. I will try to find out some more info for ya when possible. I'm pretty sure you'll be happy in this area.

Thanks, I really appreciate the info. That sounds real good. We`re really looking forward to the move. Orlando just ain`t what it used to be. Been here since 67` so the timing is perfect. I have a modern bike also and just enjoy riding in general but hanging with the vintage crowd is always big fun. I`m way past my prime and know it but getting smoked by the other vintage riders is easier to handle than the kids on mini bikes these days.

Best of luck to you on your move! My girlfriend and I moved to Huntersville (15-20 min from Kannapolis) last year from New England and we love the area. I'm hoping to get back onto a bike soon, so I'm just as interested to find some local areas to ride/race.

Thanks, I need all the luck I can get. Once I get settled in I`ll definitely be in touch. My wife got the job Thursday morning and starts Dec. 1st so I guess it`s time to get back to work. I just love packing.

Kanapolis is a nice laid back area with lots of locals born & raised there. I lived out RT 5 about 5 miles toward DEI on Trinity Church for 2 years before building a house in SC. BTW....I have a friend with a track at his house by there.....let me know when you get settled in and we can ride some. TNT in SC gets some vintage racers.

The Kannapolis movie theater is old school with a balcony and only $5 but show current movies. They also do Friday night movies in the park.

Thanks for the info lumpy790. I can`t wait to get up there after seeing how you and John Choate described the area. I have some family in Rock Hill, SC and always loved that place and Kannapolis sounds just like it so I`m excited. I`ll definitely be in touch ASAP. One thing for sure that will never change is moving still suck ass.

Hi:

I have raced FLVMX (Florida) quite a bit over the years and love it.

I race SEVMX (Southeast) now. All of our tracks are within 3 hours of Atlanta. We offer classes for every age, and bike. Even Kids & Modern bikes. Laid back, SAFE racing.

I raced with the FLVMX and possibly met you in Lake City. I definitely remember the name. The SEVMX is a great bunch of people to ride/hang with and I plan on making some of their races in the near future. The closest FLVMX race will be in Hilliard on April 1st and hopefully I`ll be able to make it. I spoke with Woody the other day and believe he`s headed north pretty soon so Savannah and Kevin Logue will be running the show from now on. They do a great job so It`ll still be the same 1st class operation as always. Thanks for the info Ziggy.
