[1] It looked like they were chasing something in the setup last year. What were they looking for and when did it go off track?

[2] What are the things that he works on during the off season to get faster? Predominately corning, whoops, rhythm sections, etc? When he looks at his skills, how does he rank in order of what he's good at?

[3] Describe what Time Ferry is adding to his program.

[4] When he goes out and does a track walk, how does he decide to keep something in his pocket or not? How many times has he had some gnarly quad in his back pocket and never had to use it?

Love him or hate him, the racing is always more exciting with him out there. Let him know we're glad he's coming back with a good team, bike, and racing outdoors.

Sorby is gone back to France for good (so he says).....on a plane right now,sitting in coach stuck between 2 big guys.

Asking him if he felt doing outdoors only was a disadvantage to his program would be a good question though.

I know that you have had some of the best teams and riding coaches in the world so I'm sure that you've heard this. Why don't you (or can you) just back it down 5%. In my opinion if you could just slow down just a very slight amount you would win almost every race and every championship that you entered.

He once said that in order to ride sand tracks well, you should "ride as though you don't want to disturb the surface of the sand".

Maybe ask him if he has any similar Zen-style quotes concerning riding technique. Not nuts and bolts, (lean here, clutch here, blabla) but mindset.

I think James is easily smart enough to come up with a good answer. Whatever you ask him, try to leave it open ended and let him run with it. He's one of the few who can do that well.
