idont think its backwards. looks like it still comes out in the front. just wraps around making the pipe super long.

in the first pic, it looks like its being routed from the back of the cylinder

in the 2nd pic, it looks normal.

strange.

Actually the second pic shows the exhast port on the right side of the cylinder. The '09-'12 CRF450 has the exhaust port on the left side.

And those are different bikes in each photo.

Also on #999 the airbox is covering the rear shock on the right side.

Love those graphics.

looks like it comes out the right exhaust port, wraps around the front and back of the engine, and then comes back out in a silencer on the rh side

Backwards cylinder to gain more head pipe length? The fuel tank is up front? intake and exhaust on the same side of the cylinder... hmmm

The head, valve cover and kickstarter are way different from production. The kickstart lever is crazy!

Don't even get me started on that fuel tank.

Wait i figured it out the exhaust routing is the same ahahah, it comes out the right side front of the cylinder as any bike would then wraps around the bike to the left, around the cylinder, behind it then out like normal....

You're right. I was all confused until someone posted them rightside up.

Exciting changes! Smile Go Honda!

But GO YAMAHA even more!

I guess the DG snake pipe for the XR75 was ahead of it's time.

Very cool. Motor is obviously entirely different with the flipped exhaust port, looks like a more compact head as well.

It doesn't look like the headpipe does the tornado-style loop ala Yamaha. Doubt it would be much more overall length than the current setup. Chassis looks the same, which is good IMO.

Good eye! If you see an aluminum tank on a pre-production works bike you can bet the farm it will be on the production bikes next year.

Seems like Factory Honda of Europe is in Japan testing their new factory bikes ! They have admitted that they are going to race on -13 bike already in 2012 GP season !
