DV seems liek a really smart guy off the track...which seems kind of rare since most pro MX racers are bone heads.

Crazy how Motoconcepts had the whole Pourcel episode, now they enter the Alessi era!

But DV is right- this sport would be really hurting without Mike Genova, Valli, Gibbs and Mike

Good for DV-tough to stick around when you don't believe in the program. He did the right and the honorable thing by walking away. Of course, he can afford to walk away, so there is that part...but regardless, he could have stuck around for the paycheck while watching the thing implode. Not saying it will, but it might. By removing himself (knowing he would undoubtably be opinionated as to what was going on), it removes a huge variable of blame. One thing for sure-it will be interesting! After the Monster Cup, Alessi has proven he has got some work to do.

They'd be smart to get involved; because, like it or not...Alessi will be in the running at a few events. Hell, he might even nail down is whoops ridin'.

As to "Letters of Intent"...the term "reasonable" comes into play if there are any "Necessary" changes to the conditions of such a letter...or...things change and the previous LOI is now "disregarded".

So let me see if I read this right.

Team Alessi says they only come to the table if they have complete control? That means big daddy Alessi is in charge? DV says, forgetaboutit, I refuse to be window dressing for the Alessi's.

Wow! Decoster must be rolling his eyes and thinking to himself, sure glad to be rid of that drama. Meanwhile, team Alessi has managed to run off another manager?

Bottom line? Mike Genova just sold his soul to the devil. He's gonna find out what it's like to dance in hell.

Maybe Tony the motivator can ask Mike G. "whats your problem, we just got here?".

So Mike G was sick of blowing millions and not getting any factory support. Does he actually think he is going to get more having the Alessi gang riding for him. Mike A has been on Suzuki's, KTM's, Honda's, etc. He is never satisfied with something on the bike and it's the teams fault. Maybe, just maybe, it's Mike inability to setup a bike!!!!
We will see Mike up front on the starts and then the ever famous fade back to 10-15!

DV, good for you to walk away from the disaster that is the Alessi racing team!

A LOI is so full of loopholes and "notwithstandings" it's a pretty toothless instrument. Ya can't take THAT to the bank.

Crazy? When Pourcels saga was going down Motoconcepts got the biggest attention they ever had. Perhaps they`ll have the same with Alessi.

DV is a smart guy, nice to have someone who is not afraid to state the real situation but does it with enough tact to not burn bridges.

And all the best to Mike Genova, he also must be a smart guy (to be as successful as he has been). Hopefully he just hired the MA800 of 2008 and can get some positive exposure for his efforts to "support the sport". From a business perspective, it takes risks to see any potential benefit. If it was easy, everyone would do it.

The crazy thing to me is that the Alessis were presented with an opportunity to ride for a pretty good team. Sure, maybe not the best team, but to at least have a ride to the races and something to build upon. And Tony's so stubborn about controlling every aspect of his son's life that he would rather watch his kid go broke funding his own racing than letting someone else guide him! And we're not talking about just any bloke off the street, this is DV who has far more racing experience than Tony. I guarantee you that a Team MC Suzuki would have been at least as good if not better than what Mike would have been able to afford week in and week out, so it all came down to control.

How could you risk your kid's career like that?

Crazy. Glad Mikey is gonna land a ride for this year but I'm not expecting anything different from them this year. What a sad story

All I can say is that I hope DV finds a position in the industry that is worthy of his knowledge and experience.

I could see him as a coach/mentor developing younger riders. Anyway best of luck DV

That was a bit of a chicken shit answer; he's been in the industry for awhile so if a situation didn't work for him, it was best for both parties to part ways. the reason DV quit is because he realized that if he trained for 2 months he could probably beat alessi on an SX track, and any team where the manager is faster than the rider is destined to implode. true story.

It sounds like the Alessi's hijacked this team. It will all be bad for Motoconcepts from this point on.
