Most of the Nationals are. The one long straight by the four...I think they're grandstands? That one has a series of large sand whoops/jumps. Leading up to it (where the light-colored road on the right meets the track) is an uphill section with some big tabletops.

I'd call this area mildly rolling terrain.

I rode the track last Sunday, all the jumps can be easily cleared by a novice. Lots of sweeper style turns, lots of ruts. The whoop section ("The Texas 12 Pack") is pretty tough, although most of the tracks I hit have removed their whoop sections, so I was probably way out of practice on them. Last Sunday it was a pleasent 97 degree's, so heat will be the toughest obstacle. See ya'll there.

You'd be scared shitless if you were from Kansas and had to deal with those hills.

You got that right.

Of course a Hill country track would be solid limestone.

I remember the old track in Lockhart, near the Hill Country. We called it "Rockhart", for good reason. I hated that place.

Cycle Ranch has some hills, but they're not huge. Strangely enough, the old Rio Bravo track had great elevation changes, and it was near Houston.

Thunder Mountain was a cool track that ran up and down the side of a big hill. It was nothing but Texas red clay. Swan has some pretty good elevation changes well.

The track looks lame. Looked lame on TV last year and looks lame in the pictures. Maybe it's different in person.

Im guessing you love Stoopidcross style jumps on outdoor motocross tracks, right?

I always thought it would be between Swan and Lake Whitney for a national.

There wouldn't be enough parking at Rio and the track isn't wide or long enough. Is it still owned by the Amaral's?

The track at Freestone got incredibly rough last year. This will be survival of the fittest race.

Swan and Whitney have the most interesting topography, IMO.

You all better get used to it . This will be the blueprint for the DMG tracks at the Nascar stadiums . I like to think my track is pretty good for being on relatively flat land . You can make a fun track if you have some imagination .

High Point the week after...HUGE hills! Cool

I wonder if they took out the downhill double that bit James two years ago. I heard he asked them to take it out last year.

Man, if it gets to that it won't be MX anymore. It'll be some birth defect SX hybrid.

I like SX unlike a lot of people, but I love MX and it's supposed to be raced on natural terrain tracks. I will lose so much interest in the sport if it moves to Nascar infields. That's too depressing to even think about.

They still had the downhill double at the ATV nationals a few weeks ago. I remember DC bringing it up and saying to JS that he promised that he would have it removed this year. I forget if he said it on the loud speaker at the race or if it was on TV. I think it was at the race. But I remember him saying it after JS said the jump had him a little gun shy after nearly crashing the same way again. I liked the track better when they crossed the start straight and before they changed the back section.
