Congrats to my Red Bull brethren! I still find is somewhat funny and ironic that my two fav motorsport athletes are both young German rider/driver and both under the Red Bull tent. (and yes i was big fans before they were winning titles, so it is not the case of bandwagon hopping!)
Today Seb Vettel just wrapped up his 2nd F1 World Title in a row (will 4 rounds still remaining!) It was pretty cool, on the cool down lap after the race Seb couldnt even respond to his crew, he was just so overcome by emotion.

..and of course Kenny snagging his first World MX2 Title

Both are still young, and i see many, many title celebrations in their future,
WoooHooooo!!!!

The Shop
DeCal Works Huge Plastic Inventory of UFO and Polisport kits.
Luxon 4-Post Bar Mounts
$189.95 - $239.95
Also remember it is not like MX, these tracks dont change. Think how long it takes you to memorize a track playing MVA? now imagine if someone was paying you millions, i bet you would know every bump real quick. Seb's win bonus = $700k per race win
there was a nascar driver that said he never raced pocono, so he bought nascar the game for like xbox or ps3 and raced it over and over to learn the track. kinda funny.

I did the F1 race 2 years ago. You spend most of the quali doing circles but when you realize you're not a pro and have to drive it a gear upper it's simply incredible.
Then progress to single seater racing (Formula Renault or Formula Ford) in a domestic series around the age of 14...
Then they progress to Formula Three, or more commonly these days GP2, which was set up as a direct feeder series to F1 a few years ago. Formula Three cars are all built using the same (stock) 2-litre, 4-cylinder engines but can have different chassis (I beleive) whereas GP2 cars are all built from the same chassis, the same 4 litre Renault V8 engine and all use the same tyre manufacturer.
Only a few lucky ones will make it to Formula One.
Most F1 drivers will have previously raced the majority of the circuits on the calendar during their years racing in lower formula's and the GP2 series supports the F1 championship, in Europe certainly. So the drivers will have a certain amount of knowledge of the circuits anyway, but as Scottie says they'll use simulators or even playstations to learn or refresh their memory of new tracks.
Played it for a few weeks on the Playstation.
