So, regardless that the consumer signed the waiver without opening the crate, you are saying it is OK to intentionally decieve the person by hiding damage to intentionally shift the responsibility to someone else?
No not at all.....but let me ask you this. Without out an on site inspection who is to say oldx didnt repackge the bike and claim forward air did it? [ I in no way even believe that just plaining devils advocate here]. Thats how companies CYA.
Regardless of the outcome its a shitty lesson learned. To be honest if Mike hadnot told me to do so....I prolly wouldnt havent looked at it either!!!!!

i have used forward air and team air quite a bit and have had good luck. im sorry this happened to you.

if you think it would be worth it, consult a local attorney you know and trust and find out which judges are consumer friendly and take them to court under that judge. once again if you think it is worth it.

the fact that they built a new crate around the old one is deceit, no matter what the f****** bill of lading says.

ill do you a couple better. those "do not double stack" stickers you put on crates? they are invisible. they alwasy double stack. shipping policy is to pack the truck .. period.

and when you lauch a claim against a freight company and they investigate? its usually denied. then it goes into federal mediation .... (as deemed by the federal transporation act, blah blah) and it is denied again. hmmmm ... who runs and sponsers the mediation field? former freight people. get the picture ?

heres my beef. you hire a freight company because hauling and taking care of freight is supposed to be their specialty. but they screw up often and try to beat you out of it.

think of it this way, we have all been going to the grocery store most of our lives and we always bring home the eggs unbroken and the bread unsmashed. why? because we take care of our own stuff. freight companies dont care.

think of it another way ... if you owned your own business, had your own truck and hauled items between warehouses and such, how much of your own stuff would be broke? none of it because we take care of our own stuff.

but you hire a specialty frieght company and pay a premium price and your stuff will be broke 1 out of 10 times.

Did you use their crate? It's a steel container with no cardboard, wood or anything else, complete with tie down anchors. I've never had a problem with one of their containers.

Home-made packaging, on the other hand .....

We "use to" ship around $200,000 worth of freight with UPS a year. A couple years ago I had a neon sign sent to me. The shipper wrapped the hell out of this thing and I bought the insurance. Keep in mind that in 10 years, we've had maybe 5 claims, and they were all packages that UPS lost and never found. Of course, my sign came in broken and UPS refused to pay.

Needless to say, since they decided not to pay the $350.00 for the sign, we only do around $70,000 a year with UPS now...I'm sure FedEx appreciates my business...

OK, I looked at your last response to me. And for the second time it sounded like that of an uneducated idiot that works in a warehouse and couldn't think of an intelligent response in a debate.

You are the idiot. Yes, the consumer trusted the freight company because on external visual inspection (from the sound of his story) the package did not have damage, so he signed the waiver. Yeah, shit happens, so an ethical business will stand up and take responsibility for it, not decieve the consumer. It is a sad state of affairs these days when you can't trust a business. I would have personally inspected the crate a little closer, but not everyone is as picky as I am and I am sure a lot of people are decieved all the time. That is what my point is, the deception by Forward Air. But you keep defending them.

OK, go ahead with some moronic, name calling insult. I fully expect it from someone that isn't even intelligent enough to understand my point.
OK, I'm uneducated idiot and I don't know the first rule of shipping. Even your dumbass said that you inspect a package a little closer. Thanks for playing the dumbass of the day game.

BTW I love how noobs always think they are higher on the internet scale than they actually are. What's your IQ? I bet you are higher than Albert Einstien. That would make you a God, I'm surprised we haven't heard of you before.

HEY EVERYONE!!!! WE NEED TO BOW AT THIS GUYS FEET, HE IS THE SELF PROCLAIMED SMART ONE WE'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR!

UPS tosses freight around like hay bales and is fraught with mouth breathers. If you put FRAGILE or DO NOT DROP on a container, you may as well put DROP ME OFF THE ROOF or JAM A FORKLIFT IN MY SIDE. Ive had more stuff ruined by those nitwits, I finally learned.

I use FedEx whenever possible.

Newb? I was a member of motodrive for years, I just didn't pop off on every single topic, I mostly just threw a few photos on there from time to time and read the rest. As far as my IQ, I am intelligent enough to live the life I want to live. But you still haven't gotten my point that I was making that it was the deceptive actions that I am against, not the package inspection.

Just because I haven't acknowledge it here means I don't get it? Wow, there's that same logic that got you in trouble in the first place.

BTW it's called "spinning to win an arguement." I see right thru it.
