Cool video.

It is also cool to see one these type of bash threads turn into something positive, with 95% of the posts being respectful.

ok, I will quit "bashing" and turn into the rest of you and sugar coat everything Tony does.

Wow, isn't Tony cool! Before his children were even born he knew exactly what they were going to do in life!!! He lives his life through them! Gee, I want to be a dad just like him!!

Would be nice if the show focused on the racing more or even some of the positive behind the scene stuff and less on the BS drama of the Alessi's

For the guy that started this[Blair683 from nobody cares Ohio, give it a rest]Hasko158 from Pitts field,Ma youre talking shit from a place that is a shithole.Get a life. The Alessi's are a great crew,THEY ARE FAMILY AND NOTHING WILL COME BETWEEN THAT,its just business. The media and everybody play's out the 'family' stuff' but if you were a normal guy[ {like most of you keyboard bad ass's are}do you think the media cares about you're kids stick and ball game.Nope its the limelight that makes this stuff up.People make mistake's,and people say or do things in the heat of the moment,It's called human nature. So b4 you open up you're stink trap and bash somebody, look at the world, yourself and how you work with you're kid's.Tony is not and never has looked for a free ride off his boys.He could run schools all day everyday and live well.He Loves his sons, and if you knew the Family you would understand the comments on T.V..It's T.V.

After watching every episode of "the moto inside the outdoors" it is clear what Mike Alessi's biggest issue is. He should'nt be worried about what team he is on or what manufacture he is riding for he just needs to get rid of that piss poor excuse of a father. Tony Alessi is the biggest piece of crap at the track each and every week. He treats his son like shit if he isant winning. Mike Alessi needs to go have fun else where so he can remember what the sport is all about. He cant enjoy riding when his dad is screaming at him and beating him down mentally. I seriously feel bad for the kid. But hey atleast he has a hot girlfriend! Smile
i think tony has learned a lot over the last year or two and will step up where he needs to and step back when he needs to.

Who are you anyway? Tony is cool as hell and you are very mean person, I spent a whole day at the track with them a few years ago and Tony never yelled at Mike once. You have some issues you need to address and it has nothing to do with the Alessi's.
tony also doesn't remember you crash...sorry.

Pretty spot on. Many years ago when Mike got his first contract, Tony and Mike made an agreement. Tony would quit his job with Waste Management and would go to work for Mike (Alessi Racing, Inc.) full time and Mike would pay him the same amount of money Tony was making at WM. Thats exactly how much money Tony still makes to this day. Pretty amazing considering how much time and effort it takes him to run an organization like Alessi Racing Inc (multiple practice facilities, training programs for all levels of riders, race engine and suspenson shope, etc.)

Many of the top riders are set up similar to Alessi Racing Inc. Racing is a business, and like most businesses, people get paid to work in them. You need employees to run the tracks, practice bike mechanics, fitness program instructors, transport drivers, agents, managers, etc. As with many other racing programs, family members sometimes work in these supporting positions, and they get paid to do so since its usually a full time job most of theyear..

The team you sign for generally only provides you access to their test track, a practice bike, and engineering and race bike support. Thats usually about it. The rest of the riders support (practice and training facilities, programs, logistics, etc) is usually up to the rider, on his own dime.

When you hear any of these young pilots' parents making a comment like "there goes the championship", they are never saying it for themselves, they are saying it because they know how hard their kids have worked and how much presure these kids are under to win. Disappointed? Sure, but because they feel their kids heartbreak, like any of us parents would.
ah...the annual launching of the rocket man has occurred.

Great video oscottie, thanks for posting!

Tony gets to spend every day with his two sons, even at this stage of their lives. They are both pro athletes and among the best riders in the world. Most dads on this board would give anything for that opportunity... and most are probably jealous.

Met Tony and stood next to Mike's girlfriend at HighPoint last year during one of the motos. New respect for the dedication that they all put into the sport.

The shit talking continues. The negativeness is unbelievable, unwarranted and pure bullshit. I would love to see a day in the shit talkers family lives. It would make good TV, but would NEVER produce two world class MX racers and great kids.

Watching that show reminds me of why I NEVER want my son to race at that level. You have all your eggs in that basket and then your son crashes hard and one of the first thing out of Tony's mouth is something like "there goes the championship". I'm not judging the guy because I have no idea what it's like to be in that spot but if my kid was laying face down with a head injury I can't imagine thinking about anything other than his health at that moment. Maybe they edited it for drama but they kind of made him seem insensitive.

Either way, I wish all the best to Mike. I really want to see him do well.
Yes, that's how us normal caring parents think but then there are guys who planned to make their kids pro moto-x racers before they were even born. To do this effectively you have to disregard their health and well being. If a parent thinks this is the best choice for their child then so be it. But most clear thinking parents would never allow their children to risk their health and future for such a tiny piece of an ever shrinking pie. I call it very short sighted to put it lightly. I wish the Alessi's the best of luck but I doubt they'll be living like Carmichael and McGrath after their careers are over.

Why attack me Bobby? You are a bit insecure huh? I met him once and hung out about 30 mins at Mill Creek, he would remember the believe the hype shirt, he signed it Crazy Mini Dad as a joke then got Mike to sign it, he also came over by the snack bar and sat down for a bit a talked moto a bit and my opinions came from that conversation. I was pretty nervous, I wouldn't expect him to remember me by name, even though he did say "what's up Crash?!" every time he passed me or saw me out there. Made me feel good. The fact that he doesn't remember me after a few years is okay with me, I bet he meets 1000's of folks. It was still a great day i won't forget, you come in this thread all high and mighty after all the rotten things you said about Tony?

*Bobby this is a pretty cool thread, if you want to start crap with me please make a new one, thanks. (Sorry for taking the bait ya'll)

I met the Alessi family at a local race in DE before Mike turned pro. I raced them both in the schoolboy, and 125B/A classes that day and I was just happy I didn't get lapped lol. I got to talk with Tony for 30 minutes afterword and realized the dedication he had for his boys.

I'm sure Tony works for Mike...
But I dont believe he takes advantage of him financially.

I've invested 7 years in college and a lot of time and money... I'm not being compensated yet. Haven't graduated yet either. Looks like someone owes me compensation even though I CHOSE to pay for it.
