Who could you compare it to? The Euro championships or the FIM. The Euros pale in comparison. Our riders get paid better than anyone in the industry (sponsor, factories, ect) we have SX which again no one can match. Like the US, it is not without faults but it is still the best. Argue all you want but the fastest riders race the AMA and the best riders come here to race.
I don't have time to go through all the bullshit in this post point by point, but one that rattles my cage is teh National Advancement system that I personally spent 12 years working, helping and still am involved with. How does a rider get advanced or better yet how does the process work in non ama areas........ya.....it doesn't or isn't available for all.
What was there before? a few districts did the job and the rest willy nilly didn't do shit.
Today there is a system, isn't perfect, but it's working. Want to duck it, go ahead, we will fix those "baggers" every year as we can. Loop holes will be there and we can on a yearly basis work on that, but something is being done.
AMA is much larger then "motocross" and it's national sanctioning body with agreements with international organizations. So "they suck" pretty simple that gets tireing. 39.00 doesn't fill your gas tank, yet for that you have rules, sanctioning, magazine, etc etc etc..... Not to mention a group of people who make it thier job to better motorcycling and Atv riding.
Instead of blasting the people that work thier tails off to do the job, Help. Pretty easy to comment and critize from the grand stands.

Glad to see he's being honored for what he's done.
But that still doesn't put CMC or the Golden State Championships on the same
level of the AMA or the Outdoor Nationals. They're both regional. There are others that produce
pros for the big time also, you guys don't have a lock on that. Who runs the Northeast local scene
where Dowd came from? What about the Southeast, where RC hails? Does Loretta Lynns
count as a pro springboard or what?
As far as Gma filling the AMA ranks of street, Roadracing, dirttrack and all the other venues of the world of bikes,
that's just stupid. You sound like a jealous little bitch sometimes, face it, the USA doesn't revolve around
CMC or Sondy. Even tho you might think they do.
Now, tell me again how important you are.

They lost millions back then. In that regard Dingman did good, played AHRMA into a corner and cut them out when they couldn't deliver.
I dunno, you would think, as the big kahuna, the AMA would promote us to the mainstream a bit more.
Domino's Pizza, Ford, Chevrolet, Subway, all push their product on the US public, so the franchises thrive.
Where's the AMA on promoting the sport in general?

Anyway I can't agree with your "as the big Kahuna, the AMA" line. The AMA got out of Pro Racing when they sold everything to DMG and as I understand the AMA in Ohio is more focused on street bike riders but they're still a big factor in important off road issues like the lead law and protecting off roader rights.
BTW I have to agree with Sondra that you should do some homework. She spoke the truth when she said AMA doesn't have SX, That's Feld and MX is MXSports. I think Feld has SX until 2019 and MX Sports has the Nationals I believe through 2013 if not 2014 then the lease will come up again.

and do, wonder what CMC is. Guys were talking about why is the AMA such a big deal. I stated my reasons,
one of which is they are more well known, at least nationally if not globally, than any other group, club or organization.
Hey, you might not like it, but ask half the people at next years Budds, or the guys roadracing at Daytona,
or the people attending the annual GoldWing convention wherever they have it, what the AMA is.
Then ask them what CMC is.
