This was the year many of us wanted to see. We waited for two seasons to see this. Congratulations for an excellent year.

Right on, Congrats RV! and his whole crew and family, great people and a great champion. It was really cool seeing Grandpa Villo on the broadcast today, he is what moto is all about!

Well deserved! I wonder when the last time we had back to back double champions from two different riders?

RV is the man. I've been watching SX and Mx very close since 1996. This has been the most competitive and talented field I've ever seen. Winning both championships this year is huge. Congratulations RV, you have earned this!

Yes he did. I dont wanna hear any bs about gas issue and I'm a Dungey fan. RV WON this title. Just an awesome display of raw spead when it was needed

Good job to RV. He earned it against some tough competition and deserves all that comes with being the champ. Get 'em next year Dunge!

Can't wait until next year, throw Canard in the mix and hopefully Reedy gets his mojo back. It will be even better than this year.

Please Honda, let Barcia ride that 450. He probably won't win the title but damn if he won't make it more fun when those other guy's have to pass him.

Two titles in two series, coming back from a shattered leg with 2 stacked fields--pure heart.

Congrats RV1.

Now the two of you go put a hurtin on the rest of the world in France!

Thor Congratulates Ryan Villopoto

Thor would like to congratulate Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto on his 2011 450 National Championship. Villopoto capped off a championship-winning 2011 season this weekend at Pala Raceway just outside of San Diego, Calif. in veteran style.

The championship is Villopoto’s second of the season, following his 2011 Monster Energy AMA Supercross title, and the sixth of his professional career. Villopoto has now established himself as the most dominant rider in the sport, and Thor MX is proud to have been there throughout his journey to the top. Congratulations Ryan on a fantastic season, and best wishes at the Motocross of Nations!

Agree 100% Big congrats to RV in both SX and MX. And also , congrats to RD for being a class act and giving us all one hell of a racing season. Those two gave us one hell of a show , along with some great rides by Reedy , Barcia and Canard as well!

Can't wait for SX!!

Great battle. Good to see everyone stay injury free to make for some awesome racing. Villo isn't necessarily my favorite, but he gets my props for his riding and winning this year. Congrats, probably one of the hardest seasons to win both MX/SX in the last several years, for sure.

We'll see if he can repeat. If he can repeat both championships next year against this competition, that will put him in the conversation of the top MX/SX riders ever. Just my opinion of course, and it will be VERY hard to do. Nobody has defended since RC. That would also put him at four 250 championships and four 450 championships for his career.
