they charge a spectator fee now to help slow down the local rif raf from coming in. i go twice a week(have the season pass for $50), by habit i usually forget about the burglaries and just leave my crap in the back of my truck. i havent had any problems. they said they hired security but i havent seen one person that resembles any type of security when im there

If a vehicle is broken into it is called burglary/conveyance.

I heard someone got their wallet stolen out their truck a few weeks ago.

I really like the track there but I will never go there again.

I think you're right Devin, my understanding is they hired more "regular" security guards, but they also have some plain clothes guards cruising around too. I ride there multiple times a week and have never had an issue. I have a tool bucket that I always leave in the back of my truck and my gear bag is sitting back there too plain as day. To me, it seems like its more photography stuff that keeps getting stolen.

That last sentence = My situation.

Let's hope nothing gets stolen.

Thanks for the heads up, Ddavis, I'll be lookin out for your stuff. Been meaning to pick up a new camera body anyway Smile

I've never had anything stolen there, and don't know anyone who has. I've brought my photo equipment there plenty of times too, no probs.

I wonder if it's a specific spot that keeps getting jacked, somewhere that isn't open for everyone to see. Over by the entrance is pretty shady (in both terms)

they consider "security" some fat guy that drives around in the pits all day in his honda accord...seen him last time i was riding there and he looked sketchy but then i was told that he was the new "security" haha

But he's there. That is a deterrent(SP). The lowlifes won't want to mess with anything if they think they are being watched. As long as he's moving around, things should be better.

If I were the operators/owners of milestone I would look into a surveillance system...with the number of individuals I hear saying they won't go back, even with how great the tracks seem..it only makes sense. It is so easy to review and track down a theft when it is recorded and cameras are correctly placed (entrance for plate info, and parking Lot to ID thieves..

I didn't feel we needed it at my business, partly because I thought it would cost $5k plus. After a few small issues, not theft but damaged equipment....we had 4 HD video cameras and a surveillance system installed in our gym... it has 60 day record time and capability to zoom in on faces from 50 yards out(say whhatt?!)...and we can watch and operate the system from anywhere that has access to the internet...I'm the last for replacing human jobs with technology, however this system was only $1,200 installed...thats less than 100 hours of rent a cop @ $10.00 (two weeks full time)...and the cameras memory is likely better than his...

Technology on security systems has really gone down in price, and if the owners of milestone read this it may be a good idea to look into it further. A combo of both might be the ultimate solution
