hey TB, i have a project for you, an article i have been searching for for what seems like over 10 years! I think it was in a magazine in 1982 and the article was titled "Futurecross" with an artist rendition of what they projected a bike in the year 2000 would look like.

I know it was 1982 because i was in 8th grade, and got in trouble in class for reading the magazine (like usual) I have been dieing to find this article again, had to be MXA or Dirt Bike (thinking MXA) I swear i can still see the article in my mind clear as day.....

It was a trip, if i recall correctly, the fenders were almsot identical to what we see on Yamahas today. It was a 2 stroke motor with the cylinder rotated 90 degrees fwd. The exhaust still came out the front of the cylinder, but cant quite recall how it was routed.

Maybe its wort shooting an email to MXA? i would really love to see it again....

does anybody have any brochures for non hondas? I would like to see something interesting rather than lame ATC's.

I recall this article but for some reason I thought it was in the '84-'85 range. The bike looked kinda odd and they predicted the shock and fork to work much like the magnetic suspension system on todays high end cars. scottie are we thinking of the same article? I believe it was in DirtBike or DirtRider because I didn't have a subscription to MXA at the time.

I could probably find it if I wanted to spend the next 3 months scouring through all of the mags that are still in the filing cabinet at my parents.

It was for sure 81 or 82, i was in Jr High, 8th grade, still recall the class the teacher bitched at me in, my English teacher, even got sent to the office for telling her i dont give a shit about this class, or school.

My expectations for this thread were in the gutter. VERY glad I opened it up. Brings back a TON of memories. Absolutely amazing how far technology has come, isn't it?

My parents are moving after 20 years in the same house. Just today I was helping box up stuff and ran across a promotional tape for these with Bradshaw! I'm gonna try to transfer it to my computer and post it one of these days. Lots of other old moto stuff too from this era! Great memories, thanks for posting these!

I had one of these. It was a pretty good bike but It was so hard to shift under power I actually bent 3 shift shafts that year trying to get the damn thing to change gears. They just don't make bikes like that any more.
