Tixier got the final mx ride at factory KTM 2012

According to Alex over at mx-pure.com. I think he has a really smooth and good riding style, but next year he has to produce much better results to justify his ride. His teammates will be Herlings and Van Horebeek in MX2.

I'm pretty gutted the ride didn't go to Jake Nicholls, I feel he definitely deserves it, considering he has beaten Tixier in every race this year since he's been back. I think it's quite bad that age was one of the deciding factors, either way Factory KTM should have two world titles again in 2012, with Herlings, Van Horebeek, Tixier, Cairoli and Nagl.

I thought there were some problems between KTM and nagl? so i think he hasn't digned yet?

bit sad when your considered to old for a ride at 21, Nicholls has been riding awesome and deserves a good ride, be interesting to see where he ends up,

Well it says on the MX-Pure article that both Nagl and Cairoli are already signed through 2013? Which I think might have happened last year?

I think Tonus has resigned for Steve Dixon's yamaha team... I could be wrong though. I hope Jake will remain with KTM UK or get a similar top ride with another team.

KTM maybe felt there was more potential to develop with Tixier, but Jake has definitely been alot faster this year, then again Tixier is only in his first season.

I wonder if a guy like Wharton will race MX2 GPs next season?

I'm quite impressed by Teillet.I also think Coldenhoff and Petrov will improve in the future. I must admit though I was really impressed by the style and the times Tixier showed last year on the 125. I can easily see why Jake feels underestimated and discriminated by age, but I don't see that his technique andriding style can carry that much more speed. But hey I didn't see Bobryshev coming either

i think its logical for ktm to bring tixier in next year, its what they have been doing for sometime........chose from all the support riders they back up and prepare them to reach the top while their top race for the crown....
unfortunatly for jake mx2 is only up to 23 years old and ktm has already the next crown contender......tixier is right in the point of starting to be a factory racer so he could be a crown contender a couple of year from now........also because of his age and sx abilities he can be an option for the lites team in usa.....

Well, the Brits don't understand why Nicholls didn't get that ride and the Belgians don't understand why Roelants didn't get that ride.
There is much to choose from inside the top 15 and I totally understand why KTM bumped up Tixier.
He's the youngest with the most potential being an EMX champ and all.

IMO that potential hasn't been shown enough yet to earn a Factory ride yet. I think one more year on his current team, with less pressure and a more relaxed atmosphere, will allow him the time to challenge for higher positions, rather than being chucked onto a Factory team without really doing much and having no real experience at the front of the pack. On the Factory team, he is going to be compared against his teammates, who he is nowhere near speed wise, thus resulting in more pressure to improve at a quicker rate which could backfire...

Whereas Nicholls and Roelants have gotten good starts and battled with the top riders at different points this season, therefore becoming more adjusted to the pace at the front of the pack and preparing themselves to take the next step, to a factory ride, instead Tixier, who hasn't worked his way through the ranks to the front, and is consistently behind the other two is jumping ahead to where Nicholls and Roelants could and should be, at Factory level.

That's just my opinion......

All good points and I agree on most parts but your exact same logic was used on Herlings two ago too and look where he is now.
Maybe Everts and Beier see something in the kid we did not notice yet.
And what if KTM decides to wait two more years with Tixier? If the kid excells rapidly next season he might be gone to a japanese team.

KTM have done it before however, placing a rider on a Satellite team, with Factory equipment and the promise of a Factory ride the following season. This maybe would be better for Tixier, like i mentioned before, giving him more time to improve under less pressure.

Hopefully Jake will do what Shaun Simpson did in 2008 and start messing with the full factory teams and maybe he will get a better ride in 2013????? Hoping he will not have any more injuries!
