How well would Honda be doing "right now" if Reed didn't start his own team and choose Honda. Reed and PC made that Honda work, Factory Honda didn't jump on board until they seen that Reed was a title contender. Reed made that bike, that bike didn't make Reed. I think Chad deserves a lot more credit for that bike.

Agree 100%

What the Honda just became the best bike out there the Year Chad started doing well on it ! Last year everyone was talking the Suzuki up saying it was the best bike out there, so Dunge was winning in part to him being on the best bike.

Chads bike looks so good out there becaue he has it working for him, how about throwing some credit Chads way, maybe it is the fact that he has found the right people to put around him who can understand what he is saying when things dont feel right so it can be corrected.

is the 2011 Honda really leaps and bounds better than the 09 and 10 model factory race bikes, or is it Reed and his team found what it needed to work the best for Chad...

KDUB has looked great on that bike for years, he's just not a rider willing to risk it & completely hang it out there. He and Reed are very similar in that they ride more within their limits than other top riders & they are reaping long careers as a result. IMO the only time I've seen KDUB really push the evelope in the past couple years was this years Vegas. But, Canard proved last year that Honda had the bike. He came off the 250f for a few rounds & immediately showed Honda had a great bike.
true about kdub...ever think he feels waaay more comfortable to twist it more though.

look at his pre ceremony tricks and jumps he does now...way more than the usual toe wheelie from past years. but you've been around so disregard my thoughts. Wink

Have you read the article that started this thread? If you had, you would know that Brooks gave Reed props for riding great and that the Factory Honda seems like it's the best bike out there.

Go the Racerxill.com and have a read, Mate.
Yep certianly did have a read of it, and thought while reading it even though Brooks was giving Reed credit for the way he was riding he was at the same time down playing by saying how the Honda is the best bike out there. The question has to be asked as why is the Honda the best looking bike out there and that comes down to the Team developing it week in week out with their rider, that rider is CHAD!

My post was agreeing with MX690 and was not a direct reference to Brooks comments and that article, although that is what this thread is about. Was actually pleasantly supprised by the positive comments about Reed while reading the article, though while reading it i was thinking to myself there were a couple of backhanded compliments (Reed is riding great but the bike is the best one out there! ) and i did think to myself Brooks wants to be with Honda next time he gets a team running. Just my thoughts could be well off the mark, I am a big Reed fan so my observations could be a little biased i can admit that.

I just thought it was obvious where Brooks was heading by his comments about the bike. We all know there is still some bad blood between him and Reed.

In my opinion it's been a combination of Reed riding his best ever outdoors and all the hard work that his team originally put into the development of the bike. Then the additional help from Honda to take the team to the next level.

When all the pieces of the puzzle are in place. Great things happen.
