I don't have any major issues, they disappear as soon as my callus appear. But my buddy has some crazy blister mid season, and he's a experienced B-rider and he's been riding with this issue for a long time, I said I'm going to ask here to see if any of you have any advice...

He has/had some sweating issues in his palms, tried baby powder and changed gloves after every moto, and now he tried deodorant spray which killed the sweating but still get blisters?

I know you should not be using to to big gloves (I learned that the hard way), but I'm pretty sure he has that covered.

* So he uses the right size I assume.
* Deleted the sweating, always fresh gloves (he have 5 pairs of same size and brand)
* Softer grips, gel-type thing

Any suggestions before I go all medical on his inability to build adequate calllus?

His actual hand...

I try not to ride or do any manual labor. Keyboard jockeying mostly, but don't get too carried away so's I don't get 'em on my finger tips.

Looks like he's holding on for dear life! I assume he uses his legs but maybe not enough? I used to get blisters like his from not using my legs and tried to just hold on with just my arms/hands. Now that I use my legs all the time to squeeze the bike, I hardly get any blister at all.

Squeeze the bike with legs and knees till they hurt more than the blisters!

These, I had problems with blisters on my ATV, was eating up my hands bad in pro race (90+ minutes) in WORCS my twist throttle side was usually ok cause it moved with the bars but my left hand and palm ended up ripped all up after rough races, Ive tried it all but these are the only things I've had that really made a difference. I wear them all the time now.

Just checking - we're talking about blisters from riding, right?

Does he get them wet, or soak em in hot water? I found my blisters didn't form calluses when I'd have a hot shower and got them wet soon after riding, it was basically soothing the blisters and not letting them form into callisses.

yep, it's one of the basics most people don't know to use, heck, I still have to remind myself to do it sometimes.

Use duct tape and fold it into a small traingle shape and wrap a couple of laps around your hand to keep it in place.

I had this issue when I first started racing hare scrambles. Glove liners are the key. Several companies make them and they have all worked well for me. I wear them religiously and wrap electrical tape around my thumb where it contacts the grip. Grip donuts didn't work for me. I only get calluses now from my concept 2 rower. I even wear my moto gloves but it doesn't stop them. The benefit is that the C2 rower keeps my hands tough when I am not able to get seat time.

This. I've been racing one hour races for the last year and got my first blisters this year. The last two races I've wrapped them in duct tape around the area he has blisters and around the base of my thumb and presto, no blisters.

When I take long showers I hold my hands up out of the water flow. If you soak your hands for a long time your calluses will soften up and you will get blisters.

Quit your bitching and ride more. Sooner or later you'll use your legs more or your hands will get tougher. You won't even know the difference.

Pickle juice.
I use unicorn tears. Sprinkle them liberally on the affected area and watch your troubles disappear.

This is no joke, urinating on your blisters really helps

I thought that only worked for when you have something in your eye? The piss dissolves debris in your eye really well, I had no idea it worked for blisters too.......

Truth. I came upon this eye treatment accidentally when my sinus rise went awry.

I used to get blisters like that really bad in my hardcore racing days in the 1980's-90's. I ended up switched brands of gloves and that helped tremendously. I don't know if it was the leather palm patterns or what it was. To this day I still won't wear FOX gloves.
