Check out this cool photo blog from Mark Rebilas. He normally shoots stick and ball sports for ESPN and Sports Illustrated but shot his first supercross in Vegas. I've always liked the way he looks for different angles and approaches for creating images.

Check it out at:

Running short on time. I lurk as often as I can but not like I used to.

Funny quote from the photog. "The hardest part about shooting this sport was all those annoying advertising blocks all around the course. I hate distracting backgrounds and those things killed many of my ideas.". Gotta love the honesty!

Those shots were amazing. I kept trying to figure out which one i liked the most but there were so many unusual but awesome angles that made for some great shots. I would have to say the pictures of andrew short with the black background and mike allessi crashing were my favorites but the one with partridge in the air and bowers going through a corner was freakin awesome too. This guy definitely has a lot of talent with a camera. Even GuyB could learn a thing or two from these pictures.

If you think those are good you should check out his drag racing stuff. I've been a fan of his stuff for a long time and got to meet him the Friday before the race. One thing he mentioned was he didn't have to cover all the action he was just looking to get the "shot"

Also, he should shoot a race where the photogs can actually walk around the stadium floor.

He did...though he had better-than-average access.

While I agree he landed some "cool" shots, I think our resident photogs capture better action and colors in their work. Probably not what he was after though. Tony Scavo used to pull off some good looking moto shots

Where is Scavo now? I always enjoyed his stuff but haven't seen anything from him in awhile.

Much different than most things I've seen. I really liked his style. Also it's great to see an "outsider" get everyone's name right!
