Pointing out is rediculous. The 250 class costs more to compete in than the 450 class. Besides, that only applies to SX right?

It's the AMA's way of killing a riders career. Some may refer to it as being dryfucked.

IMO, I think he would do real good on a big bike. He would be like LaRocco, Hunt your ass down by the end of the moto.

Like others have mentioned pointing out of the 250 class only applies to SX and Rattray only has raced one season of 250 SX so he is in no danger of pointing out. The 250 nationals are open to everyone .

The AMA used to move guys out of the 125 MX nationals for a short time in the 80's if they won the title twice. Micky Dymond was forced out of the 125 class after winning the title in 1986 and 1987. Dymond was the last rider affected by this rule and it was later dropped and so was Dymond by Honda who already had RJ dominating the 250 class so Micky was expendable.

I wonder if Bubba could still come out and wax the entire class on a 125?

Thanks guys. Thought he was around longer than that. Learn something new everyday.

He won the MX2 title in 2008, came over here and like most promptly got hurt. Spent his entire rookie SX season on the couch. He came back outdoors and broke his thumb (I think?) early so he sat out some more. I'm guessing something happened to him for SX in '10 because I don't remember him until outdoors where he finished 2nd to Canard in the standings. I think this was his first year in SX.

no shit! Just ask the Vohland brothers, or Gaddis, or _________. I think in 1990 Vohland was 3 or 4th in the Nationals and had to sit out the last few so he could ride SX the following year. The rules get changed every couple years... Ironically, the veterans of the class didn't hold up RC, MC, Pastrana, Barcia, Wilson, Tomac, etc... Ask Tomac if having to race Hansen this year has hurt his development as a racer. I'll never understand.... These guys are pros, not a bunch of pussies who need help developing into better riders. Career killer, indeed.

Tyla came through the ranks with Leok and Townley, they moved up to MX1 in 04 and 05 respectively. I know he had a few years of injuries but its daft that hes still in there with the kids in 2011.
