my sx is lacking alot of power. bottom end is okay. no top end. no power band. on the track im pinned 50 percent of the time. clearing jumps is a challenge. i bought the bike from a woods racer. i assumed it was the flywheel. but it has the stock flywheel. i assumed it was the timing plate. but the lines are matched up. its not the pipes either. the power valve only moves when in high rpms. and seems delayed when cracking throttle. any other suggestions on what it could be? im thinking the p-valve. and it isnt snappy like a two stroke should be. no snap at all. HELP!

Did it ever run good, or has it been a slug since day 1? You said the power valve opens at high rpm, which is what it's supposed to do, it shouldn't open when just cracking the throttle. For some reason I thought the valve would open @ 8,000rpm. It could be jetted way too rich, bad reeds, dirty filter....

well ive owned it for just over a year. it is a very very used bike. alot done to more external parts cause of how much use it has. its always been like this. im not sure, ill check the reeds. i clean the filter after every ride. and it isnt the exhaust, i just put the stock back on. someone has mentioned power valve spring, or throttle spring?
