Ok.....this is not a bash thread on James! I am usually one of the guys here that likes to throw the guy under the bus , but this is not what I'm doing here.

I was just reading through a lot of these Concussion threads , and it dawned on me , that maybe James might have suffered from one those wrecks he had in the SX series? He took a couple of extremely hard hits ( Especially Daytona ) , and I'm wondering if that may be the reason why he isn't ( one of the reasons ) running the nationals?

Think about this for a second.......remember last week when he posted something on twitter , about " Having something really big getting ready to happen in his life"....or something to that affect? I know I have no proof , and it's just a wild guess......but maybe he is being forced to stay off the bike right now?

Thoughts?

FWIW......after reading the thread on what MA800 might be going through , that's when it dawned on me about James. I hope we don't lose either one of these guys like we did Hepler and Pastrana.

So why was he filmed outdoor testing on several occasions in the 2 week gap between Vegas and Hangtown? According to doctors on dealing with a conccusion you shouldn't raise your heart rate period during the time you're recovering. This is what kills me about James and his shoot from the hip PR. You don't have a clue what's going on outside of a little blurb on his website about "not being ready" and Regal's tweet that said #notready. Like I said before.. if you don't wanna race outdoors that's fine. But being shady and evasive does zero to help further his career. And in my opinion it's pretty much ruining Regal's worth as a marketable rider after he gets let go from the team next year.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. James wants a certain number to race. He can't get it. There is nothing wrong with that. The sport is moving on without him.

When he went 24-0 how much did that cost Kawi. I bet Kawi was happy Stewart won that outdoor title but going 24-0 cost them a ton of money?

IMO, That had a lot to do with Kawi not signing him. Every team wants a winner at the races but not a guy that can win them all.

Thats my thoughts anyway.

Not to discredit your theory but I doubt Honda hated MC for winning all those races in the mid 90's or RC for having his perfect seasons.

The big money did not start to roll into the sport until Suzuki signed RC. He brought the money to another level. James got a ton from Kawi and Reed from Yamaha.

MC never got close to what those three guys got. Honda lucked out with MC. He was pre big big money

Well....Shawn142 has a point. I forgot all about him riding after Vegas. Sorry.....it wasn't meant to be a slam on James at all , I just thought maybe he may of been dealing with some kind of an injury after the SX season was over. I Know he doesn't want to race the nationals , but I had thought maybe wasn't able to ride any either because of it. ( injury )

You are high, MC said that he made more money doing his own team with LB & Chaparral that first year then with his whole career and how long did he do that ?? He wasn't pre-big money, he is BIG Money, have you seen his house???? It's over looking in the ocean in California, not Florida or Texas. Know what you're talking about before you spew crap.

So you are going by the size of his house that overlooks the ocean in California as the indicator of overall net worth are you? What is is the size of his mortgage? Do you know? Stocks, bonds, other real estate, etc. etc. all combine to create a net worth.

Apparently you weren't watching at the peak of the big contract, big endorsement days when Carmichael and Stewart were at the top.

I didn't say size, it's the land and what it's worth in CA as opposed to FL or TX, land here ain't cheap. I know the size of his mortgage, don't know about his stocks & bonds, but I was his assistant for a period of time, he did very well, and maybe he didn't get the 3 mill Suz contract, actually I don't know what his bike contract amounts were but his endorsements were amazing, so don't disregard what he's accomplished by any means. He also owns plenty of real estate in a few states.

I don't know about his amateur days, but the kid has taken a lot of big hits throughout his entire pro carrier. This year hasn't been that much different.

It was a pretty widely known fact that when Carmichael was leading the Nationals in 2007 and had already announced that he would ride only a half season to do NASCAR, Suzuki offered him 6 million to complete the nationals. Carmichael said no...no to 6 million for 6 races on 6 weekends. Even McGrath has said he never made anything like what those guys were making at the peak.

No they would not boggle my mind. I come from a business family. I have no doubt he makes great endorsement money. Do you think RC or Stewart have any endorsements today? Chad Reed?

How about this one: Sting wrote the song "Every Breath You Take" for the 1983 Police album Synchronicity. That was about 28 years ago. Today he makes about $3000 every day from the royalties from that song..

I'll join the pissing match....
Years ago in an RC article in RX, they were in general talking about $$ and RC said he would put his bank account up against anyone's in the sport.
They didnt get into specifics.
At the end of the day, does it matter to any of us? None of anyones business.
I am impressed with how the contracts in this sport are super duper top secret and no one talks.

MC had said he needed to thank Damon Bradshaw for the big $$ deals. Back then, the $$ had all but dried up, then Bradshaw comes along and gets the factories to write big checks.
MC has been on record saying he was getting something like &6500 win bonuses from Honda, then with Yamaha it went to $50K.
I'm sure all the front runners are doing very well.
Wonder what Mitch pays his guys, I've heard its more incentive based??

Post a reply to: This just dawned on me....."Stewart".
