Hi guys tried to post on cafe husky but couldn't remember my password and the Captcha thing was really bizzare so gave up.
Recently acquired a 2009 WR300 that has been sitting for around 3 years.
The issue I have is its running extremely rich, when I brought the bike it took a bit of tweaking on the mixture screw and idle screw to get it idling nice and from the bottom of the rev range it pulls strongly but when it hits the powerband the bike just chokes itself. I replaces the jet block gasket as it has failed and checked the reeds and intake, all good, but now it won't barely idle even with the idle screw wound all the way in and going in or out on the air screw makes no difference at all.
It still runs very strongly up until the powerband and then still chokes itself.
It also smokes really heavily despite running it on 40.1.
I'm thinking potential crank seals but wondered if anyone had any ideas? And a PWK38 would be great but in the UK they are very expensive brand new and I wouldn't trust a Chinese copy yet!
Also I need water pump seals and can't find a kit anywhere? Can anyone advise either way?
It could be leaking crank seals, a leak between the crankcases, blocked air passages in carb, blocked carb breather tubes, pilot jet not seated, leaking float valve, float valve too high or jet block gasket still leaking.
