Hey guys, I have a 2016 KTM 300 XCW and im looking for jetting recommendations. The bike has a fresh top end, RK Billet Head, Gnarly, VForce Reeds and the Factory Keihin PWK carb.
I live in MA so im at sea level and tend to ride year round in tight single track. A jetting configuration that I just need to adjust air screw would be the best but a needle change isnt bad either.
I have a JD jet kit as well as some factory needles and jets, so these are the 2 jetting profiles i was thinking of using what do you guys think.
Option 1
JD Needle Red(Summer)/Blue(Winter) 3rd clip
165 Main
38 Pilot
Option 2
N8RG Needle 3rd Clip
172 Main
40 Pilot.
Let me know what you guys think
I think you need to see how it runs and watch the plug color, air screw can be adjusted every time barometric pressure changes.
Jetting for high humidity 78% dew point today temps 93 today but going down in a couple days. Do you think a 1/2 needle leaner would be a good start ? If it runs flat yet. I hv a full size needle leaner .
I installed a 1/2 needle leaner , kept the 40 pilot because I don’t hv a 37.5 and 400 main to a 390. It ran a little better a little smoog tho. Temps of 50-60 the other jetting was close to spot on. But 93 with 78% dew point is some thick air. C12 in the tank is stale from sept . Fuel is from 8-28-23.
