noticed the pin for my 99 cr250 is loose and if the carb goes on its side the pin drops right out. It also kinda wiggles a bit allowing the float it self to have side to side play. Is it normal or should the float pin be a tight fit?

I’ve never had one that was snug fit.

Ya, they are all rather loose. The carb float bowl keeps it in place when bolted on.

OK, I had one of the post holes get worn. Mid RPM vibration caused the float to shift. Result was the float needle allowed fuel to over fill the bowl. Killed the YAT. Power stuttered like the CDI or stator was cutting out.
