Sorry if this has been asked and answered and I did watch some YouTube stuff but want real world experience/feedback. Just picked up a 2.8 gal big tank for my son’s 2023 FC250. With the new fuel pump design are guys running any kind of extension or something to be able to reach the fuel at the bottom of the left side of the tank? Is it needed? I am skeptical that just movement of the bike will give consistent fuel flow if the tank gets down to the last 4 inches or so thus not being able to utilize all 2.8 gallons if necessary. Any thoughts or feedback!
If you are slow trail riding you are going to have trouble getting all the fuel out. If your kid is fast enough he needs the extra capacity for a 1.5-2 hour hare scramble then I think most of that fuel is going to get splashed up to the pump.
No one has a good way to pump from the bottom of the tank yet that I have seen. The IMS didn't work well so they took out the extra line. It is going to need a small lift pump in that side to push fuel up to the main pump.
Thank you. Just spoke to guys at IMS. Man what great customer service. Anyway, I think it'll be fine as long as the kid is hitting bumps fast enough KTM/Husky just needs to figure out a better system as it is still vulnerable and seemingly difficult to maximize the benefits of a larger tank
