I tried looking for this first, as I know there were some minor changes throughout the years that may make certain years less “plug & play,” but I haven’t found anything with specifics that would leave me confident dropping money into this waste of time.

My wife’s 2016 YZ125 sits more often than not these days, and I want to ride it some after I go through the motor, but I had a shop shorten the suspension pretty significantly years ago to make it easier to ride for her and now it’s unrideable for anyone other than her or someone of her very novice ability. Trust me I have tried, and it is downright scary. The forks and shock are lowered somewhere between 1”-2,” and I want to still make it easy to swap back for when she wants to ride, so I need to source an extra set of forks and a shock for something that works for me.

Here is the question. What year KYB SSS will drop in and work without having to change wheels or anything else? Will the 4t stuff work (250f and/or 450), and if so what years/models?

I thought this was the case for using 125 and 250 two stroke forks, but I thought at some point in the mid 2010’s they made a fork lug change that may have limited wheel use from other years, but I guess that must have been the 4 strokes. Would shocks from 2006 - 2024 all be compatible too?

I also figured that swapping stuff over from a 250f or a 450 would be limited, but I know that a swingarm swap from some year 250f’s was a somewhat popular mod on the 250t years ago, so I didn’t know what else would be compatible to the 125/250 two strokes. Does the shock from any year 250f or 450 work on the two stroke frames?
