Hey guys, I have a 2004 YZ250 and am currently running the normal 30:1 yamalube like it recommends and want to switch oil brands to something that smells super good like I'm at the race track. Ive heard klotz and Maxima 927 is good but if I try these do I need to completely drain the yamalube oil fuel out of my bike or can I just run that tank empty dry and then try 1 of the other brands? Lastly, I want to try both maxima and klotz to see which I like better do I need to stick with 1 brand at a time or can I try a full tank with 1 brand and then when that tank is empty is switch to the other brand to try it? Sorry if its explained weird

Yes, drain or run out the fuel in your tank. Don't mix two different oils. Maxima 927 is a castor blend that has superior protection. However, it can separate from the gas in really cold temps.  It has happened to me a few times. You can switch whenever you like, but I would choose one and stick with it.  Remember that you have a small amount of oil in your crankcase so when you switch oils they mix briefly in the crankcase.

For full synthetic I grabbed a gallon of Mystik JT4 Snowmobile for $37! O'Reilly's.

Legend is extra fine filtered oil. $55 per gallon. Order direct only
