I watched the 3 episode Netflix series over the weekends,   The murdered son was a real piece of work along with the evil father. 4.3 mil life insurance on your maid? And then she does 3 within a year of taking out the policy?

It’s a huge deal here in the Lowcountry.  I’m pretty sure I ridden on a lot of land near where it all happened.  Beautiful country, great riding.

The trial is like a Grisham novel.  It’s a small town.  A good friend who is a coworker/fishing-friend-with-a-boat was in the same frat at USCe as the murderer.  Murdaugh will get a hung jury and then will do a life sentence for the financial crimes he’s already confessed. Everyone around there knows his shady Cousin Eddie is the hillbilly heroine (Oxy) hookup. I wouldn’t want to be anyone related to a Murdaugh after all the money is paid out and many folks are still missing substantial amounts that was swindled from them.

I'm never really into these things but this one has really drawn me in. I'd say I'd be shocked if anyone in the jury thinks he's not guilty, but who knows anymore. The Netflix doc was really telling on how some of these dynasty families operate. Multiple generations of wealth and power, doing whatever the they want with little to no repercussions. Coercion, money laundering, stealing, murder, etc. They build this complex in their minds they can get away with anything and they just pass it from one generation to the next.

The repercussions of it negatively impact so many, as we've seen with this. Hope he spends the rest of his life behind bars.

There's a fairly entertaining podcast by Mandy Matney(?) called Murdaugh Murders Podcast that takes a deeper dive than the Netflix series. She is a bit annoying but she was on the investigation before it hit mainstream.

The Murdaugh family reminds me of the movie Multiplicity where each clone (generation) gets duller and duller.

Since it’s going on here in SC it caught my attention.

1st impression …. This guy is a well educated man? He sure does not sound like any attorney I have ever spoken to.

Defense is twisting this whole scenario in so many different directions it’s crazy in the hopes of swaying the jury.

He’s on drugs lets be lenient on him.  He was taking 100 pills a day and his wife and kids had no idea? The cleaning lady found a bag of pills taped to the bottom of the bed then she died from a fall?

He’s admitted to all those I stole $$$ so jury might think lets let them be harsh on him.

1 person with 2 guns couldn’t shoot like that with the defense attorney twisting his body into a weird way.

The 3 segment Netflix series had so much real action to coverups it’s crazy. The son is a total spoiled rotten drunk fuck up. The drone footage of him getting rid of the guns said a LOT to getting rid of evidence.

Took the jury roughly 3 1/2 hours to vote unanimously GUILTY on all counts!

Amazing. This one was so obvious, I'm glad the jury thought the same.

I was expecting a hung jury. The guy is an epic slime ball.

We’re really glad it was not the hung jury most of us predicted. That’s an evil man.

The son that died was shooting a video of one of the dogs minutes before the shooting happened and it had everyone’s voices on it. That put him at the scene.

The way he left and went to his mothers house I would guess thats when he hid the guns. Other strange thing is the next day the son and his uncle the killers brother went to his grandmothers house and they …. Went hunting. Makes me wonder if thats when the guns disappeared. They did have a long raincoat that had slight gun residue and blood inside and outside.

Yep, I saw that. But his financial crimes will keep him locked up for a while.

Crazy. Supposedly the clerk in charge of chaperoning the jury somehow “influenced” them.

This guy is truly one of those folks who seems to be able to crawl through a mile of shit and come out smelling like roses time and time again.
