Not a computer guy, but looking for internet security and vpn for basic online surfing/shopping/bill paying. Was using Norton but they play games and have some terrible customer service. What say you vital, any recommendations?

Spend time with your GF, or wife, and off porn.

I agree. They’ve always been good, but the past few iOS(I think starting around iOS 14?) they’ve greatly increased the privacy options in Settings.

I still use a VPN though for when we go on vacation or stay somewhere and need to use their Wi-Fi.

I actually have never owned an apple phone/tablet/or laptop.. What is it about their products that makes them so much more secure? Thanks for the reply.

Ubuntu Linux = Free OS and almost zero worries about viruses, worms, trojans, etc...Tons of very good apps/programs, also free.

Apple looks after their own security wiese. Every is is Weitem for the Hardware unlike android or windows that is Weitem for anything. The way the Unix base software is written from the ground up is more secure. Would take all day to go into details but it’s just more secure.

NordVPN.  Works great!  If you’re a windows user keep your machine up to date with updates.  Windows defender antivirus fine, just be smart.  99% of issues are caused by users being unaware. Don’t open emails from people you don’t know or download anything you don’t need.  There’s plenty of info on how to navigate the online world safely. knowbe4 has free training.

I appreciate the info! Been looking at Mullvad vpn for it's ease of use and the fact it doesn't even require an email to setup. Issue I had w Norton was how difficult it was to renew without getting ripped off and getting ahold of them was a pain. I will give nord a lookover. Thx

For mobile/wireless, Apple 100%.

I still like my HP laptops but between the router setup and using PIA vpn, I’m not too concerned about anything.

Still use PIA on my phone because it covers up to 6 devices per subscription.
