SX started completing 17 round of supercross since 2008, I was curious as to who has the record of most points in a season.
** Adjusted 2018 - 2023 standing to traditional 25 points for win **
1. 391 Points - Ryan Dungey (2016)
2. 390 Points - Ryan Dungey (2015)
3. 377 Points - James Stewart (2009)
Least - 323 - Ryan Villopoto (2012)
2026 Projection - 370 - Hunter Lawrence
I remembered thinking RD's 2015 - 2016 level was impressive at the time, but maybe he still doesn't get enough credit. 2 straight years averaging 23 points a race is insanity!
31 straight podiums in SX. Record for most consecutive podiums.
Next biggest streak is Reed at 25.
Dungey might be the most underrated rider in history.
Even more amazing is RC finished with 392 in 01 with one less race.
You can "project" the finishes of remaining races with near limitless possibilities for things that can or can't go wrong? Yeah, okay..
