One of the things I’ve thought would be an idea that could work is that any riders not qualifying for the night show out of timed qualifying could work as a spotter or flagger. They’d have knowledge of the track nobody else could possibly have that’s not actually in the night show racing and could really improve the safety of those who did make the night show. Every year here, we complain about flaggers because they seem to not really have a clue how racing works. It would allow a handful of these riders to at least not leave the event with no money and they could provide valuable insight to the overall administration during the night show.
