Just moved to Charlotte. Other than the tracks (I've been to a few of those), are there any places to go trail riding after work around the Charlotte area?

Until Miss Barbara passed away recently; TNT Motorsports was the go to track-and-trail spot down in Chester, SC. Due to the expansion of the Charlotte area, not many good trail riding spots in the immediate area. Carolina Adventure World in SC has trails; but I advise going on a slow day (otherwise its mostly the "strap a case of Bud heavy to your quad" crowd. For legit trail riding, look into Brushy Mountain and Brown Mountain.

For the most legit MX in the area, ClubMX is an amazing facility.Wide Open MX is awesome but a bit of a haul..

Club is awesome, unfortunately this year they aren't (currently) doing evening practices. For weekends, MX421 is good, just up 77 a ways. Outback MX (also has trails), Wide Open, Devils Ridge, all of these places are good. Zoo City in Asheboro has practices in the evenings, though it is a bit of a hike to get there after work unless you can take off early. I am also trying to find places to ride after work during the week since Club isn't doing evenings this year. HRD Complex in Gaston SC has trails though I'm not sure if they're open during the week. If you do find somewhere though, let me know and you may have a riding partner if you want!

Grew up in Waxhaw though, favorite places to ride were TNT (which is now closed, RIP Barbara) and Robbins Ridge, which closed down some years ago and has since reopened as Dirt City USA. Haven't ridden there yet but I plan on making it out there soon, and that would honestly be the closest track to ride from Charlotte, about 45 minutes to an hour out, depending on where you live.

Closer to the 2-hour-out range are tracks like Cathey's Creek, East Bend and Daniel's Ridge. Center Road MX and MX421 are about 10 minutes away from each other, both great tracks, used to ride them a lot when I lived in Boone.

I live in Salisbury. Wish there was a place close I could ride as well. Just be nice to get some seat time a few times a week if possible.
