Hello friends,

I'm rebuilding my buddies blown rm125 and I'm currently stuck on the bottom end. Either one of the connecting rod shims on the crank seized or the connecting rod bearing blew and made some scratches and gouges on the crank and crankcase. I'm replacing the connecting rod and the crank bearings but I'm a bit concerned about the scratches on the inner faces of the crank where the shims are, as well as these scratches on the crankcase. I believe the scratches on the crankcase wont hurt anything once I sand/grind them down a bit smoother. Will a light sand/buff on the connecting rod side of the crank be enough? Please let me know what you think.

Thank you in advance!

Gosh... I'd think so. Nothing actually rubs there... that's probably from some previous failure or metal or whatever that nicked the wall. I'd run it.

Hard to tell in pictures but based off what I see I would be leery of those crank halves. I would be looking for a new crank. As for the cases I believe you can clean those up base off what I see in the pics.
