Piston question

hi got an new piston for my yz 125 1989
and i dident look the same that is on my bike its the same size but the groves on the sides are not there
the piston number is 582M05600 ist wiseco

picture 1 is the one with groves
picture 2 is the new one i got

can i use the piston does it mather that it dosent have the groves



i post pictures on teh piston and one withe the groves

The "grooves" are for lightening the piston. WISECO has changed the design of a number of their pistons like this. There is more machine work done on the inside of the piston and less on the outside. The weigh is basically the same, but they don't have exterior "grooves".
