So I just picked up a 2010 CRF450R. Its got a BPM racing engine in it. Runs strong and motor is very clean. Looks like it was done back in the spring of 2014. I am not a racer and have no intention of racing anything but maybe a hare scramble or two. Can anyone tell me about these engines? I hear they are great power wise, but I have no idea what to expect in terms of reliability or maintenance or how I should or shouldn't run it. I was thinking of putting a rekluse and heavy flywheel on it, but didn't know if it would mess anything up. Trying to decide if I I got a good deal or if its just not the bike for me and sell it to a racer or someone who would appreciate an engine like that.

Thanks. I tried to reach out on FB and by phone with no response, so I thought I'd try here for some insight. Was everything on yours still Honda spec, like valve clearances?

George is on Facebook but he is not huge on it. I can get you in touch with him, if you send me your phone number in a personal message I can get it to him and have him contact you.

Thanks. I was actually finally able to get thru to George this afternoon. Great guy and talked my ear off for over a half hour...no wonder he's so hard to get a hold of! LOL
