Have 7 hrs. on a 22 KX450 and had boil over issues from day one. My son is a B rider/motocross, slight clutch abuser and rides a lot of sand. Keeping the bike cool was a challenge, but we finally got it dialed. Here's what's been done.
-Pro Circuit Water Pump
-Myler's Left Side SuperCool Radiator
-Myler's Silicone Y Design Radiator Hoses
-CV4 1.4 Radiator Cap
-Water Wetter Supercool Coolant (yes we will have to switch back over to antifreeze at the end of the season)
I also installed a RaceTech Titanium coolant overflow tank (holds 3 oz.) and rerouted the secondary overflow to the right side of the engine so I can better see if fluid is coming out. I'm also running Maxima Premium 4 (even mix of 10w40/20w50).
We have about 2 hrs. on this set up with only some minor overflow into the catch tank. This was on a 90 degree day on a deep sand moto track running 20+ minute motos.
