2003 RM 125 build question

it looks like some of the crankcases are still available, and there are apparently several variations depending on model (I do not know the differences)... Also I hope you’re replacing the cases as a set and not just a half... Depending on the damage a repair may be possible...

Paul I saw that but the k3 number marked unavailable is the 2003 k6 is 2006 so the confusing part is the top we’re it has the year range then separate part numbers for the year break down, I yes I’d like to replace the whole thing just not wanting to order a k6 for that much money and it not work. My local dealer was unsure also.

It’s possible the k5-k6 replaced the earlier cases... as it does show they fit 01-08... sorry I don’t have any more information regarding the differences...

Brody sure looks like they will work but I’ve seen on this site people saying that resource you posted isn’t always right. Thus back to the original problem, Suzuki’s parts diagram shows on the top line 01 to 06 then shows different part numbers per year. Some posts I read shows the 04 to 06 being the same and the 01 02 same but 03 is it’s own animal. So it’s s big gamble I’m thinking of calling pro circuit and seeing if they have any ideas thanks

Jsand, there are no interchanges between each of the model years from 2001 to 2006. There are several "versions" (releases) of the crankcase for each model year, but none of the model years has carried over to the next model. This means there is some kind of physical difference between the parts. It may be something as simple as a different color paint or it could be as complex as a differently-sized bottom end bearing. It's hard to tell without a physical inspection of each piece.
Often times RM models are deceiving though; since there is always some "minor change" to the model, Suzuki considers them "new models," and thus every part has to be renumbered. Sometimes that further confuses the issue.

Incidentally, the center gasket is the same for '02, '03 and '04, so that may tell you something.

If it were me, I'd look for an '03 part and be 100% safe though.

The only oem ones left are 05 to 06 they are not the same even has a different gasket than 02 to 04 it would be a 600 dollar gamble to get new cases that very likely won’t work. I know the cross ref you posted shows they are the same but further research points to a likelihood they are not, I had my local dealer look up several part numbers and zuki shows different numbers on most of the 05 and up parts. It’s very confusing stuff because so many people say the won’t work and a few say they will was hoping to find someone who has tried it. I doo appreciate all the info and if the k5 and k6 cases would work I have no problem dropping the 600 on one but everything except that one site points to the possibility they won’t. 04 and down cases are discontinued and out of stock

04 and newer for sure have changes. They have a different gasket and seal set from K and S and I know that at least one bearing is different. I have a set of the old cases (01 to 03...I believe) They have a repair to the drain plug but, i am willing to part with them if you are interested. Thanks man, I did find a case from the guy Brody sent me if that doesn’t work out I’d be interested. Thanks for all the help

He had one I got it coming thanks for all the help

If I remember correctly the newer cases had the crank sitting 2mm lower in the cases, I believe this was to offset the longer rod (10mm longer if I remember correctly). I am guessing so that they didn't have to make wild changes to the head and to the porting on the cylinder to get it all to run correctly with a rod that much longer.
