low front brake pressure

the front brake on my 00 yz250 is hardly worth calling a brake at the moment and I cant figure it out. the whole front end is from a 01 yz125 and i know the master cylinder was a little different from 00. The overall feel is spongy, but there is pressure in the lever, just low stopping power.

started with fresh pads. The old ones had some time on them but weren't wasted. The rotor is good as well. This helped alittle, but i think its just cause the fresh pads have more bite.

The pistons move in and out like butter.

bled. filled with fluid and bled again, tapping the MC and caliper with a rubber mallet to make sure there was no air bubbles.

what do you think it could be?

You try a new brake line? Steel braided will make sure there's no soft spots in the line...

i didnt think of that. this bike is what i take out when i dont wanna spend an hour washing my 450 after a quick ride so i dont really want to throw alot of money into it. What if i were to buy a steel braided for my yzf, do you think the stock one off the 450 would work on the yz? id like to route the brake line on the yz like the yzf either way.

I imagine the brake lines are universal for those bikes. I bet the length is the only difference.

I had that spongy problem in my old Honda. It ended up being that I needed to rebuild the master cylinder with some new seals. You should be able to find a rebuild kit on Motosport, BTO or Rocky Mountain...

A fresh brake line should handle it.
