I think I asked this before but can't remember if I got an answer. I have a 73 DT1, I'm building a street legal bike out of it using the frame and engine and a few other parts. From memory I seem to remember that you can change cylinder and or crank from an RT1 and make a 360 without much effort. I'm I making shit up or is that actually possible? ie:same bottom end?

good question. I had a white tank 250 dt-1. there was some of the yamaha enduro models that you could do that with. I think it was putting a top end from a 175 (ct-1) on a 125 (at-1). not real sure on that. my dt-1 was cool. had a 21 in. frt. wheel with the orig. low fender. a little bates head lite. a lucas tail lite. the best thing I did to it was have Tom Turner build a pipe for it. it really came alive. could'nt keep the frt. wheel down. you could probably still get a pipe from bassani. get a pipe and keep it a 250. I wish I still had mine. some asshole stole it.

I don't think it will work. Cases are going to be different. Check over at vintagemx.us Someone over there will know for sure.

The cases were mostly what I was asking about. If the cases were the same I could transplant everything, I need the matching #s for DMV. I'll try that link, thanks.

A DT-1 had a bore and stroke of 70mm x 64mm
An RT-1 had a bore and stroke of 80mm x 70mm

So I'm guessing the cases are different
