Restoring a bike for the girlfriend. Its a 72 Kawasaki G5 that is hard to find parts for-mainly a piston. The circlip came out and cracked the cylinder sleeve (thin). I have a newer KE100 cylinder but the exhaust port is about .25 inch higher and the overall height of the cylinder is .25 inch taller. Will bolt right on.

Does anyone know if the rod length between these bikes is different and interchangeable? Is it just the location of the wristpin in the pistons between the older G5's and newer KE100's?

Thanks for any help! Anyone have a junker they want to get rid of?

The 71-74 G-5 and the 75-81 KE 100 share the same engine. Hang a G-5 piston one one side of the piston pin, and the KE piston on the other side of the pin ,and compare the piston height between the two.

Thats what I thought...but I was wrong. I called Wiseco for some piston dimensions, which are quite different from mine. '72 and 73 models had a smaller wrist pin diameter and different location.
