My cylinder was on the stock bore and running pretty good, but you could tell it wasn't at full compression. So I took the cylinder and had it bored for first oversize Yamaha cast piston (.25). I gave the shop the piston and they bored it with the clearance that Eric Gorr recommended. I don't have accurate enough measuring tools so I trusted their bore. Anyway, now that it is all back together, I measured the compression with a cheap autozone compression tester. It shows only 90 lbs compression. I ran the compression test right, throttle open, kill switch depressed. I have heard synthetics will not allow proper ring seating, but I used Yamaha 2R. Everybody said this guy was good. All the local shops used him.
Where should I send the cylinder to be bored .50 over and should my head be recut for the increased bore? Also I did a leak down test to check crank seals and it held 10 lbs for a couple hours.

Before reboring the cylinder you might check to make sure that both the mating surfaces (both base and head) have a good seal and the power valve is sealed properly.

Despite your engine issues, that's a really nice clean looking YZ.
