I've read a few posts here of Motodrivers who use yoga for exercise/stretching/core strength. I've picked up my exercise routine frequencies/intensities, and I'd like to explore yoga as the off day break to help my old body relax and strengthen areas I don't hit in the workouts.

Anyone know of online yoga exercises that describe what you've experienced as effective?

You cant do yoga by looking at pictures online there are to many slow movementd going from oe stance to the other. If you want to do it buy a begginers cd and go along with it. I used to have constent lower back pain then I tried yoga to strengthen my back and core and to keep it all stretched out and believe it or not my back hasnt hurt since the day I started.

If your doing it right you get a full body workout and your heart stays elevated. It worked for me and the cd was only like 10 bucks.

agreed.

but, I recommend you do a few beginner classes just to get a feel for how it's supposed to be done.

Do it 2 x a week for a month and then you could go w/ something like a tape.

As far as off day workout, you may find the intensity is quite a bit more than you were expecting. It's a pretty good workout depending on the class you take.

Right now my off day relaxation is the heavy bag, jump rope, and the kick bag. That's what I use to stretch, believe it or not.

that video reminds me of when we first got cable tv. I think it was showtime that would have these 3 chicks dressed in black doing some type of yoga like motions...these videos would run for 30 minutes or so between movies. I'm sure a whole generation of guys who are now 40-50 years old grew up whackin' to that stuff.
