Not over yet but I think Hacking isn't impressing the teams as much as he hoped. Finished good in the first race but almost took out his team mate, Parkes. Second race did take out the other Kaw (Scazio?).

Jamie had his ups & downs. Best starting position of any Kawasaki this year but a little bit anxious in the second race when he didn't get a start. Being down on power on the long straight forced him to have to ride really hard in the twisty bits & make his moves based on corner speed. Risky. He was in 5th when they red flagged the first race. Too bad. I think he could have run in the top 5 easy. Biaggi, on the other hand, had plenty of top end but kept missing his braking point at the end of the straight because he was going so much faster than the others. Stiil it was good racing. Congratulations to Spies, he did what he came to do, gained points on Haga & put a little distance on Fabrizio. I'm waiting for Titan to give us a race report.

Too bad for Hacking, he turned into a one man wrecking crew out there. But he did show em' his speed.

A race I missed on TV was the 125 GP race from "France" ? I think it was a few weeks ago. Supposedly set a record for wrecks with like 42. I shit you not. Any of you see it?

Spies looks like the Stewart of WSBK, crash or win. It's crazy that they give the V motors an advantage and everyone knows it. I'm still a bit new to the SBK scene but what's the justification for giving the Ducs and Aprillas more displacement and letting them be (obviously) faster than everything else?

I want to be able to give you a race report a million times more that you want to hear one from me.

But I ended up not being able to go to the race...some family things came up that had priorty.

So I watched the on TV like the rest of you...all my buddies went and had a frikkin' blast.

I did hear that Miller Motorsports park just signed a contract to hold a SBK race every year through 2013, so there will be other years.

Because if they didn't they'd be too slow.

Well.. that is what Ducati says! Nearly every other manufacturer disagreed.

The rules were really changed because of pressure from Ducati that if it could not run the 1198cc version of the 1098 road bike that it would QUIT THE SERIES and also quit all domestic series it supports. Under the pressure of Ducati, the FIM agreed to let the bike enter but would be under possible restrictions and a mid-series review for competitiveness. They put extra weight - 6 kgs (if i remember) and would put a restrictor (50mm) in the intake. Suz was going to pull from WSB if the rules went through unrestricted.

The new rules are also requiring that more bikes be built to keep the 150 special bikes built by a company from qualifying them as a homolgated production bike. The limit is now 1000 but that is going to 3000 in 2010.

I have riden a 998 Ducati and I owned a 06 CBR1000rr. I know which one I thought was "faster" straight out. My Honda would walk away from the Ducati in any section of road where I could grip it and rip it.

Bayliss ran away with the title last year on the bigger displacement bike and was visibly faster in almost every long straight and few people could pass him even coming out of the slipstream. I think the restrictions set into place have leveled the field some, as you can see Haga is not able to out run Spies on the Yami.
