Kids are getting too big to ride in the jump seats of the truck, Isuzu I-290. Getting a full size truck is out due to the fuel prices. My dad did some research and told me the Rav4 would be a good one to get. Anyone have one?

A nice smaller SUV that still has 3 row seats is the Acura MDX. I know with my 3 kids, the 3rd row seating is huge so they don't have to sit right next to each other (I don't have to hear "she's touching me...). But it still gets good gas mileage for an SUV.

Don't know crap about the Rav4, but funny side story is that when they first came out with the Rav4 back in about 1995 they had a promotional video that they played in the dealers and gave out to each person who bought a Rav4.
My wife was the "model" they hired for the video shoot, she spent 3 days shooting that video and it ended up being about 5 minutes long. My kids get a kick out of seeing her in the video, with her mid 90's pre-mom hair and all.

My wife has a 2006 Rav4 with 100K on it and it's still going strong.
Tiers and breaks is all we have had to do to it.

For two adults and 2 kids it is fine but putting a 5th person in there is tight.

The rear door opens to the side and this can be a pain if some one parks behind you, so be aware of that.
