It would be cool to see the teams doing this more often. Not like it costs the teams anything, but 1) it makes the kids day, and 2) its great publicity for them as well. If that's not the definition of a "win win" I don't know what is.

Very touching.
I am pretty sure this type of thing goes on frequently though not always publicized.
Make a wish foundation arranged for my niece to run with the Olympic torch.
Her favorite athlete at the time was Magic Johnson.
She runs with the torch for a bit and realizes she gets to hand the torch of to Magic.
Needless to say she was stoked.
Magic takes the torch and asks her to run with him.
After the run Magic and his wife Cookie spend the afternoon doing lunch and hanging out with my niece and her mom and my wife.
Very selfless and genuine.
If you are so inclined and can spare a couple of bucks make a wish foundation is great organization.

This weekend James had a special guest come in all the way from Ireland. Thanks to our affiliation with the Make-A-Wish America James is able to grant a wish of one of the many 'Wish Children' that are in need and are fighting chronic and in some cases terminal illness.
Pictured here, Dean Conlon (middle) and his family were guests of James' and they were able to meet James and take pictures at the truck, walk the track before the main AND eventually watch James take a monumental win. Hope you enjoyed the trip guys!
