I'm a SoCal guy since birth. I can handle the heat, but this is a little odd. It's 112 f in my back yard in Norwalk CA right now. I have 2 thermometers. One is an expensive digital, the other one is a cheap bulb type. They both say the same thing. I'm not sure I believe it.
It's friggin' 109 in HB!!
Hottest temps in the L.A. area in recorded history.
Fuckin' Al Gore!!
The Shop
We saw 109 and change at the ranch here the other day and that was a record for us.
Went on a road ride Sunday. Took off at 7:30 and finished at 11. Must have been at least a 100. I drank like a fish and still lost 6 lbs. Went 45 miles and the last 10 were fugly. I couldnt even draft. Kept getting dropped cause I was on the verge of puking.
This morning had a run scheduled. Just 3 miles but.. so I got up at 5:30 and it was still 78. Had to wait an hour until I could see outside. Wasnt all that bad but holy crap this shit is weird. We started off having one of the coolest summers I can remember only to finish off and enter fall like as if we were living in Abu Daubi.
We don't even get upset about 111-112-113...
If this economy don't improve, I'll be back in Lakewood
Que sera sera...
Welcome back to the "hood".
Spent many of good times in Norwalk.............................back in the day.
Pit Row
Norwalk was also one of my stomping grounds back in the early 70's. We used to play at a place called Golden West Ballroom. There was another place where we used to have hall parties over on Front St I believe.
Lived in Lakewood too as a really small kid back in the mid to late 50's.
