New NASCAR format

I dont follow nascar, just wondering how the changes made this season were panning out so far. They seemed a bit ridiculous when announced, does anyone think they were a good idea now?

The best thing that Nascar has ever done. I love the fact that this year doing good in the regular season helps you out in the chase. I promise after this season teams will but a bigger emphasis on the regular season and winning stages.
