The weather finally broke out here in the Valley of the scorching Sun and we are officially below triple digits!
So Wednesday we hopped on the bike after work and went up for a little jaunt to the lake. On the way up close to the lake the road was wet even though it wasn't raining.
Right when we arrived a brief shower ensued, you can see it in the distance.
Arizona storms are cool as they come and go real fast.
So I scooted the bike underneath the cabana and was wondering if this was really a good idea after all as I do have my girl with me....
Turned out to be a really nice night and we ended up at our favorite Mexican restaurant.
It was great to be back on the bike, I love this machine.

riding after a rain-storm is my favorite.
this was last year, but a memorable ride for me as it started pounding about 15 miles from my camp. luckily i took a light rain jacket, but i was soaked to the bone. but it was so worth it. after i got back i had a cold beer by the fire, great time

Would have never thought of living out here in the Dez growing up in the nice weather of So Cal but I have no regrets.
You learn to adapt. Here's an interesting fact. We have our air conditioning on 24/7 from mid May until mid/late October!
But now we are starting to reap the rewards as I put away the Jet ski's and break out the Bikes!
We have an AMA/AZ Dual Sport ride up in the cool pines of Payson that I'm really looking forward to.
Awesome picture Peely!
Hello to the trails. ....
Once I hit the lottery I'll be on my way....
Might break a record with ANOTHER 100 degree day tomorrow!
But yeah there is something unique about AZ sunsets.
And yes Uncle Tony you havta watch where you step there are rattlesnakes EVERYWHERE!
Matter of fact I was skimming across the lake one day and I thought I saw something weird in the water. ....
Circled back and sure enough it was a RATTLER! !
He had a heck of a time getting to the other side, I told Bill to give him a hand. Hehehe.
I never step outside barefoot, scorpions, rattlesnakes and thorns wherever you step!
The only mod I have done is have my buddy re-do the Corbin seat, it was hard as a brick.
95% of my riding is 2 up. My g/f likes to ride as much as I do.
We did 1000 miles on our summer vacation from Eagle Rock CA to Monterey.
Pit Row
I was perfectly happy with Silver as she was bone stock with an R6 shock.
Blackie popped up on the FZ forum locally and I thought about it for a few hours as she had some nice mods done to her. They both had 17,000 miles so I went to check her out and rode her home.
Then I had two and could not get any of my Zonies friends to buy Silver for $2700!
That was rather disappointing as I 'm a more the merrier kinda guy.
So my long time Cali moto bud of 45 years who had never ridden a street bike came out and after a test ride to the lake said " how much"? LOL
Sadly he never rides her.....
Just watch out for the cages. They just don't care, man.
Oh man hiking/camping the Sierra's was some of my best memories in my younger years in Yosemite.
Enjoy!
And yea I had my eye on a Bumblebee but the fairing was damaged.
Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water.
One of the most amazing animals in the world are these bighorn sheep.
If you look closely, you can see one looking over his domain.
They survive in the brutal cliffs and the temperature can get in the 120 degree range during the summer.
They come down to drink some water and the jack off boaters have to get close so that you get a picture.
Pisses me off as they work so hard to get there, then they are too timid to get a drink.
Then we broke it in over 2 days and 650 miles. Went east out of town (112 degrees, yea!!!) to Safford up through Morenci and the Devils Highway, what a fantastic road. We saw some of the big horns and plenty of deer to keep us on our toes. I didn't get a lot of pictures I'll see what I can find.
Rode the bike home and did some dirt roads between Kanab and home here in Northern Utah. Looks like you're having a good time as usual.
This was at the top of the mine, and I took a quick pick with Randy on his Road Glide.
We stayed at a condo east of Show Low, in Overgaard. The big Italian in the foreground.
I did not know you knew Randy, what a small world we live in.
Nice bike, post some pics and yes that is my local KTM dealer.
Thanks
